FAQ for Assisted Living

 

  • What does my monthly rent include?

Brasstown Manor will assist you will all daily living activities such as grooming and exercise, three meals per day
served in the dining room, monitoring of self-administered medications, assistance with scheduling
appointments and transportation to the appointments, all personal laundry, and linen and housekeeping
services.

  • Do the rooms come furnished?

We can furnish your room, but we encourage you to personalize your room by bringing your furnishings and
pictures.

  • Are there semi-private rooms?

All rooms in our assisted living area are private rooms and private bath.

  • Are there activities for me to do throughout the day?

We have a full time activities director who plans activities for each month. At the beginning of each month you
will receive a calendar with all activities listed for your choosing.

  • Am I allowed to leave the building with family and friends?

At any time our residents are permitted to leave the building with notification to the front desk.

  • Is the staff here 24 hours per day?

Our staff is in the building and available 24 hours per day seven day per week. There are two emergency call
systems per room for 24 hours per day service.

  • Are we allowed to use the common areas when entertaining friends and family members when visiting?

All common areas are available for all residents at anytime. Our Assisted Living area has a large living room,
screened porch, and a patio with many plants and flowers.

  • Are pets allowed?

Pets are welcome to visit for an afternoon, but are not allowed overnight.

  • Are there cable hook ups in the rooms? Yes.
  • Are there phone hook ups in the rooms? Yes.
  • How do I receive my mail?

You will have a private mailbox that the postal service delivers to daily. You may also mail letters from
the same location.

  • Do you have a beauty salon on the premises?

Yes, our beauty salon is open several days per week for wash and sets, perms, manicures, pedicures
and massages. They also do haircuts for men.

  • What does my monthly bill include?

A once a month payment includes all electric and water, garbage service, any maintenance to your
apartment, grounds keeping, parking (if needed), use of all common spaces throughout the building,
daily activities and programs for entertainment and enrichment, emergency call system for each
apartment, and scheduled transportation to local doctor’s offices.

  • Am I allowed to decorate my apartment?

Yes, you may decorate your apartment to your own personal tastes and desires. All apartments come
with wall to wall carpeting, all kitchen appliances and mini-blinds on all windows.

  • How do I receive my mail?

You will have a private mailbox that the postal service delivers to daily. You may also mail letters from
the same location.

  • Do you have a beauty salon on the premises?

Yes, our beauty salon is open several days per week for wash and sets, perms, manicures, pedicures
and massages. They also do haircuts for men.

  • Can I have overnight guests?

Yes, you may have overnight guests in your apartment. Brasstown Manor also has a Hospitality Suite
that may be rented for a small fee.

  • Is the building secured?

Yes. Brasstown Manor has a 24 hour security system. There is also a fire detection and sprinkler
system for each apartment and throughout the building.

  • Are pets allowed?

Pets are welcome to visit for an afternoon, but are not allowed overnight.
